Comedian and author David Walliams dropped by book publisher.

The comedian

Acclaimed children's author and TV personality David Walliams has been dropped by his UK book publisher, the company has said.

A spokesman for the firm stated: "Following a thorough review, and with the guidance of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing any new titles by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the decision was taken subsequent to an investigation into reports of questionable actions directed at young women.

The publisher has not elaborated on the reasons for its decision, noting: "We refrain from speaking about confidential company decisions."

A Highly Successful Writing Journey

Walliams is one of the UK's most prolific writers for young readers, boasting over more than 60 million copies globally in five dozen languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

A number of his titles, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as TV movies.

He has published over four dozen titles altogether, encompassing a festive story titled *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins this past October.

A Dual Career

He first rose to fame on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE in 2017 for his services to the charitable sector and arts community.

The publisher's decision comes after the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive this past October.
